The Mystery(?) of The Bible

Mike Skinner once said, "Two great narcotics: alcohol and Christianity." I'm just going to tell you right now: Christianity is a huge steaming pile of bullshit. The greatest selling fiction novel of all time is the Bible, surpassing fantasy works such as Harry Potter and Lord of The Rings, which both happen to be more believable. If you've ever tried to read it, like I have, then you know how excrutiatingly boring and unbelievable it was. SPOILER ALERT: There are talking snakes, people living for almost a thousand years, and people rising from the dead. Its kind of like a boring, older version of the Harry Potter series, which happens to contain all of the same motifs. I am not fooled for one second by the novel. Religion was used as an explanation for things that could not be explained. But now we have scientific explanations for just about everything. It is beyond me why we still believe in these silly folk tales. I often feel embarassed that I belong to a species that worships ludicrous and invisible idols. It is utter stupidity.

"When one person suffers from a delusion it is called insanity. When many people suffer from a delusion it is called religion."-Robert Pirsig
